Production Designer Richard Sylbert is cited with “Designing a film is like painting a landscape in a hurricane” to answer the question “What is Production Design?” on the initiative’s website for the International Production Design Week happening all over the world in October 2023.
With the Production Designers Collective, they created a platform to connect production designers worldwide. This networking effort is going to culminate in this event in autumn this year.

“Events will take place in various countries, in person and online, and will include panels, workshops, screenings, lectures, guided tours, set visits and social gatherings.
The program is open to filmmakers, industry collaborators, and the general public. Its goal is to highlight the immense creative work done by production designers, and its essential role in visual storytelling.”
